Case Study: Concise Calorific Value Reporting
Agilent is a leader in life sciences, diagnostics and applied chemical markets.
When the OpenLAB Intelligent Reporter (OLIR) module was developed for the OpenLAB® CDS platform, FCG was asked to develop an advanced report that could routinely be used with 4-channel gas chromatographs performing calorific value analysis (BTU).
Use Case and Technical Requirement
RGA, NGA and BTU analyses require complex calculations designed to yield a final, actionable piece of information that determines the quality of a fuel or gas sample. In this example, the OpenLAB Intelligent Reporter provides a concise result consisting of gross BTU/ft3 value along, average molecular weight, and specific gravity. The report computes 3 physical constants for each of 22 components, and a hexanes-plus group from OpenLAB CDS EZChrom Edition.
FCG developed a solution kit consisting featured in a OLIR Report Compendium available to OpenLAB CDS users.
The solution kit consists of the following:
- EZChrom script and sample method.
- OLIR report template.
- Sample chromatograms and report output.
